This smart modern hotel is located right on the banks of the river Nile and is only a short walk from the centre of Luxor and situated approximately 20 minutes from the airport.
Accommodation
All 224 rooms offer either spacious king or twin sized beds with wonderful views of the Nile. Each room has a balcony, air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, minibar, safe deposit boxes, hairdryer, well equipped bathroom with bath tub and shower.
Interconnecting rooms and non smoking rooms are also available on request. Side view of Nile is standard; rooms with a full Nile view also have Jacuzzi bath and a bidet (bidet only in suites) in the bathroom and free wireless internet access, these rooms are available with a supplement payable.
Facilities & Services
The Sonesta St George has a great selection of restaurants, including the buffet-style main restaurant which has themed nights; there is also a Japanese restaurant, the only one in Luxor, an Italian restaurant and “Aladdin’s” oriental restaurant. In the lobby there is a coffee shop which is open 24hrs a day and a lobby bar. The hotel also has an English pub and a bar by the pool.
The hotel has a big “u” shaped pool heated in winter, with a small children’s pool, sun beds and umbrellas surrounding it. There is also a nice sundeck and terrace, the perfect spot to laze and take in the beautiful view of the Nile. For the energetic there is a health club and spa where guests can use the exercise room (free of charge), steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi (small charge payable locally).
Massages are also available (chargeable). Also available in the hotel are billiards and table tennis tables. Other services include, shopping arcade, laundry service, 24hr reception, car rental service, business centre, cinema, bank and cash machine.
