Luxor is famous for the Felucca sailing boat; you will find them for hire by the mooring stations of the cruise boats on the Nile. These magnificent sailing boats have been sailing on the Nile for hundreds of years and it is a wonderful way to see the banks of the Nile, whilst dipping your toes in the cold water of the Nile! Hiring your own private Felucca should cost no more than 250 Egyptian Pounds (£25) for one hour.
Tired of walking in the heat? Then try looking at the sights by horse and carriage. A perfect way to look around the East bank side of Luxor. You can pick up the Caleches just off of Nile Street; agree a price before you set off. Thirty minutes should cost no more then 50 Egyptian Pounds (£5 English Pounds). The horses used to pull the carriages are all from the Luxor adoption centre and are rescued horses.
Cross over to the West bank of the Nile by ferry costing 1 Egyptian Pound (10p in English) and take a camel ride from the area by the ferry. This should cost approximately 50 Egyptian Pounds (£5 English Pounds) for one hour. These camels go along the Nile and through the Luxor gardens. Its great fun and a fairly comfortable ride as long as you remember to lean back when the camel stands up and again when it sits down!
Visit Luxor and visit the ancient sites of this wonderful place. There are so many breath taking temples, Karnack and Luxor to name but two and of course, The Valley of the Kings - where Tutankhamenês tomb was discovered, the Valley of the Queens, the Luxor museum and the Mummification museum. We have excursions operating to all the major attractions in Luxor and we will be happy to organise these trips for you.
An early start but worth the lack of sleep! Drift across the valley of the West bank in a hot air balloon. A truly magnificent experience and one not to be missed.
