Hotels in Egypt

1. Booking conditions Uncover Egypt work with Travel Agents in Egypt to act as a booking agent on behalf of all the hotels, apartments and villas featured on this website and your contract will be made with these accommodation providers. Please read the booking terms and conditions carefully. They apply to all bookings made with Uncover Egypt and to all members of your party.

2. Your accommodation contract When you book accommodation, we will send you and E-mail confirmation of your booking. At the time that we send this confirmation a binding contract comes into existence. The contract date is the same date that appears on the confirmation. The contract is subject to conditions. All booking conditions will apply including cancellation charges. Once a contract is made the accommodation provider is responsible to you to provide you with the accommodation booked and you are responsible to pay for it. In each case subject to these booking conditions and any other terms and conditions specific to the booking when you receive it. If you want to cancel or change your booking later, you may have to pay amendment or cancellation charges. These may be as much as the whole accommodation cost. In parties of two or more people the person who makes the booking will be considered the lead person and accepts responsibility for making all payments to us for all members of the party. We will send information to that person who will turn be responsible to ensuring that the other members of the party are kept fully informed. Should you wish to made an amendment or cancel your booking we must receive confirmation by e-mail. We will only accept cancellation confirmation from the person that makes the original booking. If you are aged under 18 at the date of departure and your parents or guardian are not travelling with you they must write to us with their written consent for your travel.

3. Holiday Insurance We strongly recommend that you arrange appropriate holiday insurance. This insurance should cover the cost of cancellation, all medical costs and the costs of assistance including return to the UK in the event of an accident or illness. Please make sure that you advise your insurer or any special activities you may undertake on your holiday such as diving which may affect your holiday insurance.

4. Payments - a) If you book more than 6 weeks before your arrival date you are required to pay a 25% deposit of the total value of the rental at the time of booking confirmation. This payment should be made promptly, normally within three days of reserving a property for you. The outstanding becomes due 6 weeks prior to departure. Cheques must arrive at the Uncover Egypt offices before this 6 week date. By agreeing to these booking conditions you consent to this procedure.

b) If you book less than 6 weeks prior to departure, you must pay the full price of the accommodation when you book. Payment should be by cheque. Please note your booking may be cancelled if you fail to make payment on time and you then are liable to pay the accommodation provider cancellation charges as set out below. All extras such as personal laundry, phone calls, food and drink bills etc must be made directly to the accommodation provider.

5. Special Requests If you have any special requests that do not form part of the standard accommodation services as described in our website e.g. dietary requirements, please let us know at the time of booking. Uncover Egypt pride themselves on the relationship that they have with the accommodation providers and strive to achieve all your special requests. We will pass such requests to the accommodation provider, but unfortunately cannot guarantee that they will be available. Further if the accommodation provider is unable to meet such requests neither Uncover Egypt or the accommodation provider can have any liability in this respect unless such special requests have been confirmed and guaranteed at the time of booking confirmation.

6. Changes to your booking If you need to change any details of your original booking after we have supplied you with your confirmation we will do our best to help. However, the accommodation provider or Uncover Egypt has not obligation to make any changes although it will permit you or any member of your party who is prevented from travelling to transfer the booking to an alternative name provided reasonable notice is given of the change. (See conditions below) You must confirm any change by E-mail. If the accommodation provider is able to make the change there will be a Uncover Egypt administration charge of £15.00 in addition to potential charges from the accommodation provider subject to any local terms and conditions. If you change the number people booked, the accommodation will be recalculated for the new party size. If for example your party is reduced in size, this may mean the accommodation is underocccupied and each of the remainder of your party may be subject to increase payment. If you wish to make any change to your booking whilst on holiday e.g. upgrading accommodation or changing the length of your stay, such requests should be made through our agents and are subject to availability and any extra cost must be made at the time of change in resort.

7. Cancellation of your booking The accommodation provider incurs costs for your booking from the time it is confirmed. The closer it is to time of your departure the less likely the provider is to resell the accommodation. Therefore if you cancel or amend your booking a charge has to be made and the later the change the more the charge will be. If you wish to cancel a confirmed booking this must be done my e-mail or on line by the lead person of each party. Cancellation charges will be calculated as set out in the table below and will be notified to you by invoice within 14 days of cancellation. Please note the amendment charges below are only valid if your booking does not require change of hotel, (i.e. You are staying at the same hotel and wish to change your room type, board basis, date, duration or number of guests). If you wish to change to another hotel, please call our office that will confirm the new cost to you subject to availability. This will be considered as cancellation and a new booking will be made. Uncover Egypt will do everything in its power to avoid having to make any change to any bookings. If in the unlikely event the accommodation provider that they are unable to supply the accommodation booked informs us, we will try to provide you with similar accommodation of equal standard. If we are unable to do this or you prefer not to accept the alternative you may cancel free of charge. Any payments you have already made will be refunded to you in full.

8. Booking responsibilities Due to the fact that Uncover Egypt act only as a booking agent we have no liability for any of the accommodation arrangements and in particular no liability for any illness, personal injury, death or loss of any kind unless caused by our personal negligence. Any claim for damages for injury, illness or death arising from your stay in the accommodation must be brought against the provider of the accommodation and will be covered under the jurisdiction of the law of Egypt.

9. Complaints procedure If you have a complaint whilst at the accommodation you booked, you must inform both the hotel and our agents in Egypt immediately in order to give both parties an opportunity to resolve the problem. You may lose any right to compensation if you fail to do so. If the issue can still not be resolved to your satisfaction then contact Uncover Egypt either in Egypt or the UK. We will act as an intermediary to try and rectify the problem. In the event that we are unable to do so and you wish to take matters further you must do so directly with the accommodation provider concerned.

10. Indemnity When booking through Uncover Egypt you accept responsibility for the proper conduct of yourself and your party during your stay. The accommodation provider reserves the right at any time to terminate your stay or that of any member of your party due to the misconduct of any member of your party within their reasonable opinion. Full cancellation will then apply and no refund will be given. Furthermore the accommodation owner shall be under no obligation whatsoever to pay compensation or meet any costs of expenses you may incur as a result of such termination, in accordance with this paragraph. If the behaviour of any member of your party causes damage to the accommodation in which you are staying, you agree to fully indemnify us against any claim (including any legal costs) made against the accommodation owner. Finally you are also liable to reimburse the accommodation provider for any damage caused before the end of your stay.

11.Room allocation On arrival at your accommodation you will be allocated your rooms. Checking and Check out times will be advised to you locally and differ from accommodation to accommodation. If you require a late check out you must organise this with the accommodation provider directly whilst on your stay. Late check out cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability.
