1. How to make a reservation Uncover Egypt act as a booking agent on behalf of the villa owners or there agents and your contract will be made with these accomodation providers. Fill out one of our request forms and we will send you a confirmation of the cost and availability by return. Please read the booking terms and conditions carefully. They apply to all bookings made with Uncover Egypt and to all members of the party.
2. Contract We will send you a confirmation E-mail of your booking. At that time that we send this confirmation a binding contract comes into existance. The contract date is the same date that appears on the confirmation.
3. Holiday Insurance We strongly recommend that you arrange appropriate holiday insurance. This insurance should cover the cost of cancellation, all medical costs and the costs of assistance including return to the UK in the event of an accident or illness. Please make sure that you advise your insurer or any special activities you may undertake on your holiday such as diving which may affect your holiday insurance.
4. Payments A) If you book more than 6 weeks before your arrival date you are required to pay a 25% deposit of the total value of the rental at the time of booking confirmation. This payment should be made promptly, normally within three days of reserving a property for you. The outstanding becomes due 6 weeks prior to departure. Cheques must arrive at the Uncover Egypt offices before this 6 week date. By agreeing to these booking conditions you consent to this procedure.
Payments B) If you book less than 6 weeks prior to departure, you must pay the full price of the accommodation when you book. Payment should be by cheque. Please note your booking may be cancelled if you fail to make payment on time and you then are liable to pay the accommodation provider cancellation charges as set out below. All extras such as personal laundry, phone calls, food and drink bills etc must be made directly to the accommodation provider.
5. Special Requests If you have any special requests that do not form part of the standard accommodation services as described in our website e.g. cots, highchair requirements, please let us know at the time of booking. Uncover Egypt pride themselves on the relationship that they have with the accommodation providers and strive to achieve all your special requests. We will pass such requests to the accommodation provider, but unfortunately cannot guarantee that they will be available. Further if the accommodation provider is unable to meet such requests neither Uncover Egypt or the accommodation provider can have any liability in this respect unless such special requests have been confirmed and guaranteed at the time of booking confirmation.
6. Changes to your booking If you need to change any details of your original booking after we have supplied you with your confirmation we will do our best to help. However, the accommodation provider or Uncover Egypt has not obligation to make any changes although it will permit you or any member of your party who is prevented from travelling to transfer the booking to an alternative name provided reasonable notice is given of the change. (See conditions below) You must confirm any change by E-mail. If the accommodation provider is able to make the change there will be a Uncover Egypt administration charge of £15.00 in addition to potential charges from the accommodation provider subject to any local terms and conditions. If you change the number people booked, the accommodation will be recalculated for the new party size. If for example your party is reduced in size, this may mean the accommodation is underocccupied and each of the remainder of your party may be subject to increase payment. If you wish to make any change to your booking whilst on holiday e.g. upgrading accommodation or changing the length of your stay, such requests should be made through our agents and are subject to availability and any extra cost must be made at the time of change in resort.
7. If you have to cancel your holiday you will be charged in accordance with the following scale: Outside of 6 weeks departure loss of deposit Name change - no charge Inside 6 weeks of departure 40% charge Inside 3 weeks of departure Cancelled booking 100% payable Name change - no charge Name changing of an individual is done free of charge at no time must any more persons occupy a property than agreed at time of booking, except with prior written agreement. If the party size changes the cost of the rental remains the same the properties we offer are charged per property not per person. No refunds can be made for stays that are ended earlier than booked. Uncover Egypt will do everything in it's power to avoid having to make any changes to any bookings. If in the unlikely event the accommodation provider advises us that they are unable to supply the accommodation booked, we will try to provide you with similar accommodation of equal standard. If we are unable to do this or you prefer not to accept the alternative you may cancel free of charge. Any payments you have made already made will be refunded to you in full.
8. Booking responsibilities Due to the fact that Uncover Egypt act only as a booking agent we have no liability for any of the accommodation arrangements and in particular no liability for illness, personal injury, death or loss of any kind. Any claim for damages for injury, illness or death arising from your stay in accomodation must be brought against the provider of the accomodation and will be covered under the jurisdriction of the law of Egypt.
9. Complaints procedure Should you have a problem on your holiday, it is a condition of booking with us that you must report it to the owner or the owner's agent in the resort. If the issue is not resolved you must send us a fax or e-mail in the UK to make us aware of your complaint. We will then send a fax of e-mail back acknowledginig your complaint. Uncover Egypt will act as an intermediary to try eand rectify the problem. Owners and agents must be given the opportunity to resolve any issues and allowances must be made by you for any local conditions regarding the resonible amount of time taken to rectify the problem. Compensation payments will only be considered where it is proven that any reported problem had a prolonged or major impact on the enjoyment of your holiday. It is not acceptable to make a serious complaint after you have returned home.
10. Indemnity When booking through Uncover Egypt you accept responsibility for the proper conduct of yourself and your party during your stay. The accommodation provider reserves the right at any time to terminate your stay or that of any member of your party due to the misconduct of any member of your party within their reasonable opinion. Full cancellation will then apply and no refund will be given. Furthermore the accommodation owner shall be under no obligation whatsoever to pay compensation or meet any costs of expenses you may incur as a result of such termination, in accordance with this paragraph. If the behaviour of any member of your party causes damage to the accommodation in which you are staying, you agree to fully indemnify us against any claim (including any legal costs) made against the accommodation owner. Finally you are also liable to reimburse the accommodation provider for any damage caused before the end of your stay.
11. Property Standards We inspect all properties that we advertise and we endeavor to maintain high standards. However, inevitably, items break or require maintance, therefore please be aware that you may encounter maintaenance staff and gardeners during your stay. Please also remember that these are private homes and not hotels. They are taken at guests own risk and the villa owners or agents are not liable for damages or injury to person or any property belonging to any person. Please leave the property in a reasonably clean and tidy condition. We reserve the right to charge for extra cleaning if necessary.
